Our Story & Legacy
A Legacy Turned Into Stories That Inspire Generations
Founded by Pontress L. L. Tousant in honor of Edward and Magnolia Paige, Ed & Mac Publishing Company was created to inspire young minds and empower new voices through meaningful storytelling.
The Beginning
Where It All
Began
A tribute. A mission. A publishing house born from the deepest kind of love, the love of family, story, and possibility.
"Their names gave this company its soul. Their legacy gives every book we publish its purpose."
Ed & Mac Publishing Company was founded by Pontress L. L. Tousant as a living tribute to her grandparents, Edward and Magnolia Paige, two individuals whose lives embodied the power of perseverance, wisdom, and unwavering love. Their names form the heart of this company: Ed for Edward, Mac for Magnolia.
What began as a personal mission to honor family has grown into something larger, a publishing house committed to inspiring the next generation of readers, thinkers, and dreamers. Every title that carries the Ed & Mac name is shaped by that founding purpose: to tell stories that matter, stories that last, stories that children will carry with them long after they close the final page.
We believe the world changes when children are given windows into cultures, places, and possibilities beyond their own horizons. That belief drives every editorial decision, every design choice, and every author relationship we cultivate.
Ed & Mac is also a platform for new voices. We recognize that publishing has historically been difficult to access and we are committed to changing that. Through our publishing services, we guide emerging authors from concept to finished product, with care, expertise, and genuine investment in their success.
Pontress L. L. Tousant
Pontress L. L. Tousant is a storyteller, educator, and advocate for childhood literacy and creative empowerment. With a background spanning education, design, and publishing, she brings a rare combination of pedagogical insight and creative vision to every project she touches. Driven by the belief that every child deserves to see themselves in the stories they read, and that every aspiring author deserves a path to publication, she founded Ed & Mac to be both a publishing house and a launchpad. Her work is shaped by purpose, guided by legacy, and animated by an unshakeable faith in the power of words to change lives.
The Namesakes
In Their Honor
The name Ed & Mac was chosen with intention, a permanent inscription of two lives that shaped a family, and now shape a publishing legacy.
